It takes a village to run a science fair.
We are extremely fortunate to have very generous corporate donors who believe in our mission and goals and contribute funding to operate ACSEF * (see list below). We also need small donors to retain our nonprofit status and remain in operation.
As a nonprofit organization 501(c)(3) we are required by the IRS to demonstrate broad public support to maintain this status. Each contribution that is less than 2% of the total donations is categorized as contributing to broad public support. Nonprofits must have at least one third of their support shown over the last 5 years come from this broad public support. At this time we are far short of this requirement due to few non- corporate donors.
The cost to ACSEF per student applicant for the supply vendors and facility rental is between $95 and $125. The $15 per student registration fee we request does not cover the cost of the Fair. Twenty-five percent of the students do not include a check with their application packet, 7% fail to notify of non-participation by our vendor deadline. Two percent of the fees are waived for Title I schools or financial hardship.
So if you feel our efforts are or have in the past been beneficial to your children, school, district and community please consider becoming a PATRON providing a donation, any size is appreciated and is tax deductible – TAX ID 45-1800245. Checks can be sent to ACSEF at PO Box 668, Pleasanton, CA 94566. Alternately you may use the PayPal button on this page. We will mail a receipt acknowledging your donation for your tax purposes.
Additionally, if you run a business that can offer some type of IN-KIND support such as a printing company, t-shirt vendor etc. please let us know as this too can be counted as Patron funding and contribute to our IRS requirements.
